Bookkeeping administration support

Most small businesses do not need more accountancy — they need someone to keep the paperwork in a state their accountant can actually work with. That is bookkeeping administration, and it is one of the easiest things to hand over.

Receipts and records

Receipts chased, captured and attached to the right transaction rather than living in a glovebox until January.

Categorisation

Transactions coded consistently against the chart of accounts your accountant asked for.

Deadline preparation

Quarterly and year-end packs assembled in advance so filing is not a two-week emergency.

Where the cost of messy records actually lands

Accountants charge to tidy up. Every hour spent unpicking uncategorised transactions and missing receipts is billed at professional rates, and it is entirely avoidable with routine administration during the year.

Keeping records current also means the numbers you look at monthly are real, which matters far more for decisions than anything produced retrospectively nine months later.

The boundary with your accountant

This service is administrative. Wise Resolutions does not prepare statutory accounts, give tax advice or file returns — your accountant does, and the work here is designed to make their job cheaper and faster.

In practice we work to their instructions on coding and format. Practices that want support the other way round should look at VA support for accountants.

Questions

Common questions

Can you do our VAT return?
No. VAT returns and filings sit with your accountant or a qualified bookkeeper. We prepare and organise the underlying records.
Which software do you work in?
Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent, plus Dext or Hubdoc for receipt capture, using a delegated user account.
How often does this need doing?
Weekly or fortnightly works best. Monthly is workable; quarterly usually means the tidy-up cost has already been incurred.
